[V5.1 and later]Using the Launchpad to start the installation

  1. Start the Launchpad in the OS directory on the product CD:

    /CDROM/OS/launchpad.sh

    The Launchpad opens in the language of the machine locale setting.

    The appearance of the Launchpad is the same for WAS and for Network Deployment.

  2. Click Install the product to launch the installation wizard.

    If you use the Mozilla browser on a Linux or UNIX system and you do not have the Netscape browser, some links might not work because the Launchpad attempts to call the Netscape browser in the /usr/bin/netscape directory. Try a symbolic link to the Mozilla browser to fix the problem as shown in the following example:

    ln -sf /usr/bin/mozilla /usr/bin/netscape

    If you still cannot use the Launchpad panel, you can launch the following links directly from your browser:

    CDROM_drive:\platform_directory\Install.exe on Windows platforms.
