Configure a JMS provider

WebSphere embedded messaging as the JMS provider

Supports both queues and topics.

Can coexist on the same host as an existing MQ installation, which must be at a supported level of MQ features.

One can install IBM WAS with embedded messaging then later install MQ for use as a JMS provider.

MQ as the JMS provider

Consists of WebSphere MQ, along with the embedded messaging client.

To install, reference the documentation for your OS.

Use the WAS admin console to administer the MQ JMS provider resources, such as queue connection factories.

You cannot administer MQ security using the console.

Third-party JMS provider

To use a third-party JMS provider, install and define the 3rd-party JMS provider as a generic JMS provider. You also need to install MQ Event Broker.
