Wiring the IBM Connections portlets 

After you add the IBM Connections portlets to an IBM WebSphere Portal page, wire them together so they can exchange data.


Before starting


You should already have added the Lotus Connection portlets to a Portal page before you proceed with wiring.


About this task


The following steps are an example of how you can wire portlets in an application. You can apply these steps to wiring any of the IBM Connections portlets in an application.


Procedure

  1. From the Edit Layout page of the page containing the Activities portlet, click the Wires tab.

  2. Click the Define Global Targets button.

  3. Click the Process<URL> checkbox and click OK.

  4. Repeat the previous two steps to set Global Targets for the Blogs portlets.

  5. Click on the Edit Page Layout button for the page containing the Activities and Blogs Summary Portlets.

  6. From the Edit Layout page, click the Wires tab.

  7. Select the data pertaining to Activities and Blogs respectively from the drop down and click the plus sign (+) in the far right of the screen to add the selections similar to these:

  8. Click Done.
