IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Application Diagnostics, Version 7.1.0.1
Enable the trimming of data through the Archive Agent
It is essential that the following tables be pruned on a regular basis. The properties file is MS_home/etc/aa_deletedata.properties. Once enabled, the Archive Agent affects the following tables.
- MEMORY_DATA
- GC_DATA
- MQI_QUEUEMGR_SR_OVERVIEW
- MQI_QUEUE_SR_OVERVIEW
- CTG_SR_OVERVIEW
- WEBSERVERCHARTDATA
- IMSTHREADS
- VOLUMESTAT
- PORTALSTATS
When data trimming is enabled, the pruning occurs every two (2) hours, keeping two (2) days worth of data in each. These tables and the criteria for trimming the tables are hard coded in ITCAM for Application Diagnostics and cannot be changed. In the next few sections, the recommended steps to follow when enabling the trimming of data through the Archive Agent along with a recommended set of best practices will be provided.
