What to do next

Complete the following steps:

1. Restart the instance of WAS to be used by the Managing Server.

2. Choose any of the following options:

   • (optional) Set up security for the Managing Server.

     See Set up security.

   • (optional) Perform customizations of the Managing Server.

     See Customization for the Managing Server on UNIX and Linux.

   • (optional) Install a language pack.

     See Language Packs for Managing Server.

3. Install and configure a data collector. See one of the following publications:

   • IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for WebSphere: Distributed data collector Installation and Customization Guide

   • IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for WebSphere (z/OS): data collector Customization Guide

     Before configuring a data collector on IBM z/OS, it must be installed. See the Program Directory for IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for WebSphere (z/OS).

   • IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for J2EE: data collector Installation and Customization Guide

4. After you have started using this product to monitor your application servers, perform periodic maintenance on the Managing Server. See Maintain the monitoring environment.
