Run the stand-alone version of Packaging Utility

We can run Packaging Utility without installing Packaging Utility.

To run Packaging Utility without installing, use the stand-alone version of Packaging Utility. The stand-alone version of Packaging Utility is included on the Enterprise disk with Installation Manager and Packaging Utility.

We cannot use the Packaging Utility to install Installation Manager. You must have Installation Manager installed on the local computer to use a repository created by Packaging Utility.

We cannot use Installation Manager to update the stand-alone version of Packaging Utility. When a later version of Packaging Utility is available, we must acquire and run that version of the stand-alone Packaging Utility.

If we installed Packaging Utility, we can use Installation Manager to update Packaging Utility. See Install Packaging Utility in wizard mode for information about installing Packaging Utility.
